You need a break. Call it rest, respite, a date night, or even a spa day, the truth is that you need it regularly so that you are able to care well for your loved ones.

But who has the time and money for any of that, right? With all the therapy appointments, doctor visits, and medical bills it’s easy to let self-care, soul-care, and relationships go unattended to.

If that sounds familiar, it’s because we completely understand, and want to help. Through the generous gifts of our partners, donors, and friends, we are able to provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to focus on their relationships and have a moment to recharge.

Using the form below, tell us how we can help with your specific needs and we will reach out soon to help provide you with support.

Currently, as we get started, we are only able to work with families in or near the Birmingham, AL, region. Our hope is to expand these services far beyond our city in the months and years to come.

Counseling

Allowing a trusted person to speak into your life is the cornerstone of self care. Whether you have a favorite counselor, or need help finding one, we can help. We provide financial resources for parents walking through disability parenting to access marriage, personal, or biblical counseling.

Spiritual & Pastoral Guidance

Most disability parents struggle with church. Many times the problem is accessibility, but sometimes there are deep spiritual questions left unanswered that lead to feelings of hurt or disappointment. With over a decade of pastoral ministry to work from, Stephen would love to sit in the hard questions with you as a guide to find clarity and a new perspective on the gift that is disability.

Date Nights

Each month we send parents out on much needed date nights to eat, laugh, and reconnect with one another. We hope these nights are good for the soul and a time for mom and dad to take a little breath. Payment for childcare or a caregiver (we can help find one if needed!) can be included. Let date night be on us this month!

Attend a Moms or Dads Night

We host bi-monthly Moms and Dads nights out to provide rest and respite to parents of kids with disabilities, but also to create community for parents. Community is essential for us as disability parents, and our prayer is that these fun moms and dads night will create lasting friendships and community to help us navigate this parenting journey.

Spa Visit

When you walk through the kind of daily stress that comes with disability parenting it can take a toll on your body. We often carry the weight of therapy, doctors visits, difficult behavior, and a thousand other things on our shoulders. We would love to send out for a massage or spa visit to help you relax and rest.

Childcare or Caregivers

Sometimes we need help. Maybe for an afternoon to get some grocery shopping done, for a date night, or to watch one child in a game or performance. If you need help finding reliable childcare or caregivers that understand and are prepared for the needs that come with caring for a child with disabilities, we can help connect you. Our partners have also provided financial resources that can help cover those costs.
